“The Model 1851 Navy revolver and Southern made copies were used in the Civil War. By both sides. And is Known to have been used by John Singleton Mosby, Wild Bill Hitchcock and Buffalo Bill Cody along with thousands of others.
Basically the Walker model was copied and scaled down to 36 cal. Which led to one of the most popular cap and ball black powder revolvers of all time.
